How We Help

Our Services

As a not-for-profit advocacy and support organisation, we offer a diverse range of holistic services.

We appreciate that crises do not always occur 9am – 5pm and provide flexible access to our services outside of standard operating hours.

Our team strives to advocate for – and always be beside – vulnerable families, offering physical, emotional and social support as well as providing access across the following areas:

Providing referral pathways to a range of counselling services which cover financial services, alcohol and drug counselling including rehab centres, grief, trauma and family domestic violence

Education

Child Protection & Family Services (CPFS)

Supporting families to engage positively and strengthen their relationship with CPFS by attending meetings and advocating for family-led decision making. Engaging wider family members to be involved as safe support networks and supporting families with contact visits – as or if required

Furniture

Providing referral pathways to a range of agencies who can provide furniture and other home based services including Salvation Army, SOS, Red Cross & St Vincent de Paul Society

Basic Amenities

Engaging with a range of community services to support clients in sourcing local services within their area who provide basic amenities

Therapeutic Counselling

Providing access to therapeutic counselling – both one on one and as a family/group – in a safe environment, ensuring the counselling is culturally appropriate and specific to individual needs (grief counselling, past trauma etc)

Networking

Building relationships with key support networks who can assist clients to achieve both their short and long term goals. In addition, we advocate with key networks for resourcing purposes and strengthen client relationships

Positive Parenting

Supporting parents to identify children’s needs and engaging holistically with the family so the child’s voice is heard. This may involve providing referrals to services that offer parenting programs specific to the client’s needs, such as being culturally appropriate, healthy eating, circle of security, role modelling and positive engagement with children
